According to a survey conducted between August and October 2023 in Japan, around ** percent of respondents were undecided about when they replace their passenger car. In contrast, ** percent of surveyed people stated their intention to replace it within five years.
*The target group was private households in Japan, regardless of automobile ownership. In automobile-owning households, the main driver of the vehicle bought most recently had to respond. In the other ones, the person in the center of the household economy had to respond. Households were randomly selected in a two-step process, first determining 300 survey points reflecting regional population sizes, then conducting random walks from each point.
This survey item targeted car owners, referring to the latest vehicle purchased.
