About 98 percent of residents in the state of Telangana, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh in India were meat consumers. Rajasthan is the state where the lowest share of non-vegetarians came from, only 25 percent of the population was not following a vegetarian diet.
The share of people who follow a vegetarian diet worldwide as of 2016, is highest in the Asia-Pacific region.
