In 2023, nearly 70 percent of the employed population in Laos worked in agriculture. Comparatively, less than one percent of the population of Singapore, Macau, and Hong Kong worked in agriculture in 2023.

The agriculture sector consists of activities in agriculture, hunting, forestry and fishing.
