Share of employed females in India 2021-2024 by sector

In the PLFS survey conducted between July 2023 and June 2024, the proportion of employed females in agriculture was the highest at 64.4 percent. The share of women in agriculture has gradually increased in the past two years. The services sector constituted the second highest share of women employees; however, it was significantly lower than agriculture.
