The share of smartphone or tablet users who use banking on the go has increased throughout the years in the Benelux region. Mobile banking subscriptions in Belgium, for example, increased from from 100,000 in 2011 to 4.5 million in 2016. In the Netherlands, approximately 92 percent of the teenagers aged 15 to 16 years old used online banking to check their balance.
