ICT research and development expenditure in worldwide 2022, by country
In total, research and development (R&D) spending on information and communication technology worldwide amounted to 545 billion euros in 2022. Of these, 285 billions were spent by hardware companies, of which 121 billion euros were spent by firms based in the Untied States. Moreover, U.S. based firms stood behind over two thirds of R&D spending within software products worldwide. Chinese Huawei was the hardware producer with the largest spending, whereas Alphabet spent the highest sum of the software companies.
