Most used e-commerce payment methods in Brazil 2016-2024, with 2030 forecast
In 2024, 41 percent of online purchases in Brazil were bought by account-to-account (A2A) transfers, while 32 percent were paid for via credit or charge card. Largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, checkouts using PostPay fell four percentage points from 2019, accounting for 11 percent of e-commerce spending in this country in 2021. This payment system consists of a boleto bancário, a barcoded ticket that can be paid on ATMs, in bank agencies, post offices, lottery agencies, and through internet banking. New in 2022 is the category of A2A, which mostly focuses on the Pix system in Brazil.
