The operating margin in any business reflects the profitability of a company, by dividing the operating income to the net sales during a time period.
The tourism business is a conglomeration of travel agencies, airlines, hotels, cruises, and experiences. International tourism increased throughout the last decade, with Europe being the most popular destination. The industry saw an increase in revenue since 2013; a trend predicted to continue through 2023. Expedia is the leading travel agency worldwide and reported 99 billion U.S. dollars of sales in 2018.
