Global TDI demand 2011-2024

The demand for toluene diisocyanate (TDI) worldwide in 2024, was some 2.65 million tons. That was a slight increase relative to the global TDI demand in 2023, which was 2.51 million metric tons. 

Toluene diisocyanate is used in the production of polyurethanes, mainly for flexible foam applications such as bedding and furniture, carpet underlay, and packaging applications. It is also used to manufacture sealants, coatings, adhesives, and elastomers.
