In 2023 – the first year of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's third term as president of Brazil – the Brazilian federal government spent approximately 358 million Brazilian reals on advertising, down from almost 589 million reals in 2022 – the last year of Jair Messias Bolsonaro's administration.
