The health expenditure as a share of gross domestic product in Malaysia declined to 3.91 percent in 2022. Nevertheless, the last two years recorded a significantly higher share than the preceding years.

This indicator does not include capital health expenditures such as buildings, machinery, IT, and stocks of vaccines for emergency or outbreaks. The level of current health expenditure is expressed as a share of GDP.
