This statistic shows the average annual prescription drug price change in the U.S. for brand name drugs especially used by older people, from 2006 to 2020. The average annual prescription drug price change for those drugs was 5.2 percent in 2006 which rose to a peak of almost 14 percent in 2014. However, within the given time frame, 2020 had the lowest growth rate with under three percent.
