During a survey fielded in Brazil in January 2022 among internet users who own smartphones, around 33 percent of respondents said they sent text messages via SMS at least once a month. This is 22 percentage points below the share recorded two years earlier. Meanwhile, 85 percent of respondents in 2021 stated that they received text messages via SMS.
