This statistic displays the average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from new alternative fuel vehicle (AFV) passenger cars in the European Union (EU-28) from 2000 to 2016 in grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer (g CO2/km). It shows that emissions of carbon dioxide have been mostly decreasing during this time period, expect increases in 2005, 2006 and 2016. The average grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer emitted from alternative fuel vehicles dropped from 208 in 2000 to a low of 79.2 in 2015.
