The number of enterprises in the tobacco product manufacturing industry in Turkey decreased by two enterprises (-6.67 percent) since the previous year. This was the first time during the observed period that the number of enterprises in this industry declined in Turkey. Nevertheless, the last two years in this industry recorded a significant higher number of enterprises than the preceding years.
In accordance with EU REGULATION (EC) No 250/2009 only companies are included here which were active during at least a part of the reference period. It also includes local units (branches) which do not constitute a separate legal entity and which are dependent on foreign enterprises.
