As of 2024, the Hospital Corporation of America, based in Nashville, Tennessee, was the largest health system in the United States, with a total of 51.4 billion U.S. dollars in net patient revenue. HCA Healthcare is also the largest U.S. health system when ranked by the number of hospitals and the number of beds.
If hospital systems or integrated delivery networks (IDNs) were ranked by operating revenue, the Kaiser Permanente would top the list instead as it is also a health plan and brings in revenue besides from patients.
