In 2017, about 1,246 women and 991 men, over the age of 50, had to be admitted to hospitals across Peru due to diseases of the musculoskeletal system and tissue. The age group that followed, with the majority of the cases, were individuals between 25 to 49 years old with 1,127 women and 962 men hospitalized due to the same health-related issues.
