Number of clinical trials in Italy by phase 2019
The number of clinical trials authorized by the Italian Medicines Agency in 2019 varied according to the phase considered. According to data, most of the trials authorized in Italy belonged to phase III of the pipeline and amounted to over 300 trials. By contrast, only 43 of them pertained to phase IV.
