The consumption value of vegetables across India amounted to approximately 2.9 trillion Indian rupees in fiscal year 2016. There was a consistent increase in the value of vegetable consumption since fiscal year 2012. Horticulture made up a fairly large share of the farming industry in the south Asian country.
