The number of times a person in the United Kingdom used a debit card for payments increased by roughly ** percent between 2020 and 2021. Although the coronavirus pandemic did lead to a decline in 2020, it is assumed that the second half of that year already recovered some of the lost transactions. Many consumers in the UK switched to online shopping during this time as well.
