Nuclear power's share of German energy mix in Germany 2000-2024
In 2024, nuclear power contributed zero percent to the electricity mix in Germany. In the period of consideration, figures declined steadily. A particularly significant drop was recorded in 2011, following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in Japan, which caused the German government to revise its nuclear energy policy, scheduling the phase-out of existing plants. In April 2023, the last three nuclear power plants in the country were shut down.
