Amazon forest in Brazil: deforested area by land 2025| Statista

In Brazil, more than three quarters of the deforested area in the Amazon rainforest occurs in private land areas. In March 2025, this type of land consistently accounted for at least 79 percent of the deforested area reported. In contrast, in the same period, less than one percent of the Brazilian Amazon's deforestation took place in indigenous land. July and August tend to be the months with the biggest deforested area of the Amazon rainforest.
