Between 2006 and 2024, the number of Italians living abroad increased. In 2024, 6.1 million Italians were reported to live outside of Italy, almost the double when compared to 2006. The data refer to the number of people reported in the Registry of Italians Resident Abroad (A.I.R.E.).
