In financial year 2023/2024, Malaysia's largest car manufacturer, Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua), recorded a profit of around 526 million Malaysian ringgit, a decrease from nearly 760 million Malaysian ringgit in 2022. In March 2024, Sime Darby Berhad completed its full acquisition of Perodua's parent company UMW Holdings Berhad.
