Between 2013 and 2019, international passenger traffic at Polish seaports rose annually, reaching over two million passengers. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, that number fell to 1.55 million passengers. In 20223, this number grew to over 1.73 million passengers.

The source adds that information on passenger traffic are received from representatives of ships calling at seaports, and provided via maritime offices – harbor boards and boatswain offices, within the frame required under Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council 2009/42/EC of 6 May 2009 on statistical returns in respect of carriage of goods and passengers by sea (Journal of the European Communities No L 141 dated 6 June 2009).
