
Health spending in Brazil as share of GDP 2010-2021
In 2021, spending on health represented around 10 percent of Brazil's gross domestic product (GDP), up from nine percent reported in 2018. At the beginning of the decade analyzed, the South American country spent an equivalent to eight percent of its GDP on health care. As of 2021, household out-of-pocket health expenditure in Brazil amounted to approximately 37 billion U.S. dollars.
