WhatsApp usage for news in Brazil 2024, by age group

As of February 2024, close to half – 47 percent – of internet users surveyed in Brazil and aged 55 years and over said they accessed news on WhatsApp. The same was true for Brazilians aged 45 to 54 years. Among respondents from the 25-34 age group, the share stood at 31 percent. The reliance on Facebook as a news source in Brazil was also low among internet users aged 25 to 34.
