WhatsApp usage for news in Chile 2024, by age group

As of February 2024, nearly half – 45 percent – of internet users surveyed in Chile and aged 55 years and over stated that they accessed news on WhatsApp. Among respondents from the 18-24 age group, the share stood at 15 percent. The reliance on Facebook as a news source in Chile was also lower among internet users aged 18 to 24.
