Renewable sources accounted for approximately 89.2 percent of the electricity internal supply in Brazil in 2023, up from 87.9 percent a year earlier. 2023 recorded the highest figure in the indicated period. Hydropower is the main renewable source used in the country, accounting for some 63 percent of Brazil's electricity generation in 2022.
