Electricity generation of Eletrobras in Brazil 2021, by subsidiary
The electricity corporation Centrais Elétricas Brasileiras S.A., commercially known as Eletrobras, operates in the sectors of generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy in Brazil. In 2021, the company generated more than 178 terawatt-hours of electricity, of which around 44.4 terawatt-hours were generated by the subsidiary Eletronorte. Eletrobras' share of Itaipú Binacional, one of the largest hydropower dams in the world, located in the border between Brazil and Paraguay, generated nearly 33.2 terawatt-hours that year.
